11/14 Investigation

 Investigation:

This week I did my investigation on sprites. At first, I had no idea what it was, but Mr. Bomboy showed me a few images on google with examples of sprites. It is basically a two-dimensional bitmap graphic object most often in a 2D video game.

This is an example of a character sprite sheet. It is a combination of different movements originated by one character.

I am going to create my own sprite character by using pixel art. I will also create items and other inventory needed with pixel art to incorporate into my video.

Work Log:

Monday: I began to work on my video in after effects. I started designing the quest log.

Tuesday: I continued to work on the design of the quest log. I also added a cookie to resemble what the video game character is going to make.

Wednesday: I finished designing the quest log book. I began to work on the inventory and materials for the video game. I also added audio to make it sound like it's a video game quest.

Thursday: I began to work on the 2D character in my video game. I followed a tutorial on youtube to do this in photoshop. This video shows a person making pixel art from a Minecraft character skin.

I wanted to make pixel art out of my own Minecraft skin which looks like this:

Friday: I continued to work on my pixel art in photoshop. This is what it looks like so far:

Although the youtube tutorial only does the first half of the body, I would also like to add the legs in the future.
